B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Ok, so I heard a strange food myth. Has any one heard of the myth that you shouldn't eat bananas on an empty stomach, like first thing in the morning or you will have an upset stomach? Yes I've heard of the laxative properties of bananas...my personal theory is that it makes everything slippery inside ;).

Let me know if you've ever heard of this myth or not or it's affected you. I personally don't believe it as I've had bananas on an empty stomach plenty of times. I just don't know where people get this stuff!

I get a tummy ache if the only thing I have first thing in the morning is a banana. Kinda like the same feeling I get when I eat ice cream or other dairy foods (yeah, yeah, I know...I'm lactose intolerant but I can't help myself...I love dairy)

If I am running late or I am just short on time (as I often am), a banana is an easy breakfast and always a staple in my house. I have not had the problem of a stomach ache due to a banana breakfast, but I do not have any food aversions or allergies save one...Celery. It is a genetic thing I think...whole family can't deal with it. Though, after reading the most recent post (on this site), I will have to try the Chinese Celery to see if I can eat that type. Especially since it has all that healthy goodness stored in its tiny little plant cells :)
